For nearly a decade, Coach Mark Ure has helped shape youth soccer on Kauaʻi—not only by developing players, but by developing people.

His influence can be seen in the keiki he has coached, the parents who have trusted him, and the coaches he has helped teach and mentor.

Developing Kauaʻi Keiki

Coach Mark’s approach has always been about more than soccer. Through training, competition, teamwork, and mentorship, he has helped young athletes develop confidence, communication, accountability, discipline, leadership, and respect for their teammates.

For many families, the most meaningful result is not simply a better soccer player. It is watching their child become a stronger young person.

Building Braveheart FC

Coach Mark helped build Braveheart FC from the ground up as a program focused on youth development on Kauaʻi. As Director of Coaches, he has helped train, guide, and develop the adults responsible for coaching the next generation of Kauaʻi players.

When you teach a coach, you influence every child that coach will someday mentor.

Developing Coaches Across Kauaʻi

Coach Mark’s contribution to Kauaʻi soccer is not limited to the sideline. He has spent years sharing his experience with other coaches and helping establish stronger standards for youth development. He has also served in leadership within Kauaʻi youth soccer, including involvement with BVB IA Hawaiʻi and the Kauaʻi Youth Soccer Association.

Historic Success at Island School

In 2024, Coach Mark helped lead Island School to the HHSAA Division II Boys Soccer State Championship. Mark and fellow coach Sean Magoun subsequently received statewide recognition as All-Hawaii Coaches of the Year.

Championships are only one measure of his work. The greater legacy is the young people who carry those lessons with them long after the final whistle.

From Kauaʻi to National Competition

Through BVB International Academy, Coach Mark has been involved with national-level teams competing on the mainland, while continuing to bring that experience home to the players and coaches of Kauaʻi.

For years, Kauaʻi families have trusted Coach Mark with their keiki. His legacy can be found in the players who learned to believe in themselves, the teammates who learned to work together, the coaches he helped develop, and the families who watched their children grow because someone believed in them.
